Services / Equipment financing
Add capacity without draining cash.
Trucks, kitchens, imaging equipment, machines: when equipment earns its keep, it can usually carry its own financing. Bayside helps you choose between a loan, a lease and other asset-backed structures, compares terms across lenders, and keeps the payment in line with what the equipment brings in.
Contractors, fleets, kitchens, practices: any business that grows by adding capacity.
The equipment itself, time in business, credit and cash flow.
Compare loan and lease, match the term to the equipment’s life, and keep your working capital free.
When it fits
With equipment financing, the equipment is usually the main collateral. That often means a lower cost and a longer term than unsecured working capital, and it keeps your cash for payroll and operations.
It works best when the equipment has a clear useful life and a resale value a lender can count on.
What to watch
A loan builds ownership from day one. A lease can mean lower payments and an easier upgrade, with an end-of-term decision to plan for.
A $1 buyout and a fair-market-value buyout are very different deals. Know which one you’re signing.
Paying for equipment long after it stops earning is a cost you’ll feel. Match the two.
Some agreements secure more than the equipment, with a lien on other business assets. Check what the lender can claim.
Side by side
| Equipment loan | $1 buyout lease | Fair-market-value lease | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who owns it | You do; the lender holds a lien | The lessor, until you pay $1 at the end | The lessor |
| End of term | You own it outright | You own it for $1 | Buy it at market value, return it or upgrade |
| Payments | Principal and interest | Usually similar to a loan | Usually the lowest of the three |
| Best for | Equipment you’ll run for years | Ownership through lease paperwork | Equipment that dates quickly, like technology |
Terms vary by lender, equipment and file. Ask your CPA how each structure is treated for taxes.

Questions
Often, yes. Lenders look at the equipment’s age, condition and resale value, and terms are usually shorter than for new equipment.
It depends on the lender, the equipment and your file. Some structures need little or nothing down; others ask for more. We show you the options side by side.
Sometimes. SBA 504 covers equipment with a useful life of 10 years or more, and 7(a) can fund equipment too. Both usually take longer than equipment financing. We compare them when your file fits.
